Day 1 - Wednesday - New Delhi

Our tour guide will escort you to the Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station from where you begin your week-long tour into the luxurious paradise of Palace-on-Wheels. Be prepared for a warm and traditional welcome. However, do not think it to end in there, as this would just be the beginning of one of your most memorable experiences in the days to come.

Day 2 - Thursday - Jaipur

The Palace-on-Wheels puts its first step firmly in the Pink City of India and the capital of the Rajasthan, Jaipur. One of the most attractive and fascinating cities of India, Jaipur exhibits a unique culture and heritage set aside in this traditional part of India. As you de-board from the heavenly abode of Palace-on-Wheels, you would be guided to Hawa Mahal, or the Palace of Winds, in an air-conditioned deluxe coach. The semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows of this 5-storey building are a must-watch that would leave you spellbound. Your next stop would be at Amber Fort, where an elephant ride would traverse you to the hilltop. Satisfy your hungry taste buds at a 5-star hotel as you then taken to the City Palace Museum and Observatory. End your day by retreating back into the Palace-on-Wheels.

Day 3 - Friday - Sawai Madhopur

The Palace-on-Wheels marks its next stop in Sawai Madhopur early in the morning. Get through your breakfast quickly as you would then be taken through this exemplary and fascinating city named after its founder, Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. You would also get a chance to explore the unexplored terrains of the Ranthambhor National Park. One of India’s best wildlife sanctuaries, this park would give you a chance to capture the marvelous glimpses of over 300 species of birds and animals. Tiger, hyena, jackal and fox are some species that would definitely captivate your senses. Do not miss out the ruins of a 10th century fort housed within the park. Also, you can pick some exclusive toys, ethnic ornaments and costumes that Sawai Madhopur is renowned for. Your journey for the day ends back in the Palace-on-Wheels as you depart for your next destination, Chittorgarh.

Day 3 - Friday - Chittorgarh

As you are done with your lavish and mouth-watering lunch on-board, it is time to step your feet in Chittorgarh. The Chittorgarh Fort would give you an opportunity to relive the valor, courage, love, chivalry and indomitable Rajput spirit of the historical era. After you have been besieged by the honor and pride of the ancient legends, you would make your way towards another mesmerizing city, Udaipur.

Arrival: 16.00 hrs, Departure: 02.00 hrs (next day i.e. on Saturday).

Day 4 - Saturday - Udaipur

The Lake City of Udaipur, founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar in 1559 AD, houses the most enthralling and stunning lures of Udaipur. The Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir located amid the clear-blue waters of Lake Pichhola, are the two bizarre and trance-like palaces that Udaipur proudly boasts of. You would be treated for lunch at a 5-star hotel followed by a trip to the City Palace.

Arrival: 08:00 hrs, Departure: 15.30 hrs.

Day 5 - Sunday - Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, the heat of the Thar Desert was founded by Rawal Jaisal. The yellow sandstone fort, standing tall over the city, will surely hypnotize you, as you enter this gorgeous city. The beautiful, colossal and artistically-carved havelis or mansions of Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are simply worth giving a capture in your cam. Your trip to Jaisalmer would be incomplete if you do not pick up a few fine pattu shawls, mirror work and embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewelry and curios. You would be transferred back to the Palace-on-Wheels for lunch, after which a camel ride across the sand dunes of Sam would be awaiting you. Refresh yourself with a hot cup of tea after the tiring yet enjoyable camel ride. Your dinner would be arranged at a 5-star hotel alongside a cultural program.

Day 6 - Monday - Jodhpur

Jodhpur would be your next city on your Palace-on-Wheels itinerary. Encircled by seven gates and several bastions, Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan. Herein, you would be bestowed with the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the historical architecture at the Mehrangarh Fort and the various palaces housed within. Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are some of the many that are sure to keep you glued to this beguiling place. Jaswant Thada and some other royal monuments lying beside the fort are sure to mesmerize you with their white marble designing. Enjoy the traditional lunch at a Palace Hotel, after which you can linger around shopping exquisite handicraft articles, like breeches, embroidered shoes, metal knick-knacks, silverware, and tie and dye fabrics.

Day 7 - Tuesday - Bharatpur / Agra / Bharatpur

The Palace-on-Wheels will arrive in Bharatpur on the seventh day, wherein after your breakfast; you would be guided to the world renowned bird sanctuary of Keoladeo Ghana National Park. A heavenly abode for Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and several other species of birds, you simply would not be able to let them go without a click!

Agra

The Agra Fort would be your first destination in the beautiful world heritage city of Agra. Post lunch, you will make your way to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his beautiful queen, Mumtaz Mahal, this breathtaking monument is a perfect example of eternal love between the two. The Agra city, famous for its marble inlay work, offers you a range of other items such as leather goods, jewelry and miniature Taj embossed with the Pietra Dura work.


Arrival: 10:30 hrs, Departure: 23.00 hrs.

Day 8 - Wednesday - Delhi

After a long week of indulging into the elegancy and luxury on Palace-on-Wheels through various heritage destinations, you would finally arrive at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station, which would mark the end of your journey. Enjoy your last breakfast on board and retreat back into the life-long cherished memories!
